The drink of the summer here in my house is tea, or lemonade. It’s be really hot here in New York, and while I love my water, I need variety. I fell in love with Honest Tea about a year ago when I picked one up at the store to try. I had heard of them, but never tried them and I am really glad I did! I am a huge fan of their Raspberry Tea! It’s not overly sweet, it’s actually perfect for my liking. When I contacted Honest Tea to review I was informed they had some new unsweetened tea flavors for me to try. While I’d never had their unsweetened tea, I figured I’d give them a try! Continue reading
Have you ever noticed that whenever you order a drink at a dining establishment it comes with a plastic straw without question? Straws are 1 of 10 major items that are being poured into our landfills each year. When highway clean ups are conducted you can be sure that plastic straws rate high among the items found at each clean up. What if restaurants enforced a rule regarding straw use. If you’d like one you need to ask for one. I know my family and I could make do without a plastic straw to drink our beverage with. We know we can’t save the worlds environment issues over night but the company Glass Dharma might be well on their way to helping this growing economic problem.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone knows what a crockpot is, and has probably used one of them at some point in their lives. I was asked to review a cook and carry Crockport that cooks enough food for 7 people. I’ve owned several crockpots and while I thought they were all the same, they were in fact all very different. My family and I don’t have cable TV, but we do have Netflix, and Hulu that we can stream on. I was afraid that by not having cable TV my children wouldn’t have as much of a selection of education TV. Boy was I wrong, and happily so, my son always manages to really enjoy the PBS Kids shows and for that I am thankful. There are lots of options for educational television with PBS Kids, and one of them is Wild Kratts. The Kratt Brothers is an award-winning entertainment company focusing on television and interactive digital media production. Continue reading
Sugar Mountain PR has asked me to review on Red Yarn’s community-building sing along album called Deep Wood Revival. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a CD with this type of music style (rousing folk, rock and gospel elements). However after listening to the songs and following along with the lyrics it was easy to fall in love with these songs.
My children sure loved the tunes of several different songs. My oldest (6) was a little more aware of the words in the song and liked being able to understand and follow along in the book with the lyrics. There were lots of rhyming words that make signing along easy, and catchy. I like that each song show-cased a different animal and situation within the woods.
You can see above on the CD sleeve that each song takes place at certain location within this “journey” through the woods. As they get deeper into the woods the music on the CD gets more serious, and dark. I would say that the portion A of the CD is for everyone, but the second portion (B) is for a older audience.
Deep Woods Revival is set to release on June 23rd and will be available from Red Yarn Productions. To help celebrate and promote the release of the album Deep Wood Revival they performer and teaching artist will host two ful band concerts at The Old Church in Portland on Father’s Day. It’s hoped to spread from Oregon, NYC, Philadelphia and Texas this summer!
In the mean time you can check out Red Yarn on Facebook!

This review will be well appreciated by those of you who like to cook. I know I can’t be the only one who buys a non-stick pan and out of fear still sprays it. I’ve had several situations where I’ve gone to use a non-stick pan for eggs, or grilled cheese and trusted it word and wound up with half my food stuck to the bottom of the pan. I am over the moon with this next product, for several reasons, Ozeri has created a pan that truly is nonstick that allows me the ability to enjoy all of my food, not just what’s left of it.
