I love reviewing subscription boxes, for several reasons but mostly because I am amazed at the wide variety of subscription services available. Whatever your hobby, niche or love is for I am sure they have a box for it. Scent Trunk is for those of you who truly appreciate a wonderful fragrance, or scent. While I am no expert when it comes to perfume I know what smells good to me, and what doesn’t.
Scent Trunk is fairly new to the world of subscription services and it’s growing rapidly. I was given the opportunity to try the service out and help spread the word. Before my package arrived the company sent a bit of information about the company’s mission and how to get the best experience with Scent Trunk. When you sign up for Scent Trunk you have the option of filling out a profile survey that will better help the company determine your likes and dislikes in a fragrance. You can also go back and update it once your scents arrive to show what you liked, or didn’t.
Scent Trunk is available to both men and women which is great feature of this service. This particular box comes monthly and has two price options. You can choose to pay $15.00/mos for 3 fragrance samples (Starting 7/9/15 the prices will raise to $18.00), or $20.00 for 4 fragrance samples. Shipping is always FREE and ships to the United States and Canada. The sample sizes are based on the size and price of the full bottle. Your sample sizes range from 1-3 ml. The over all mission of this service is to help you find your scent and have the full bottles ready for purchase once you’ve fallen in love with a scent.
This is how the box comes, the three samples comes in this velvet pinch sack. The Box has the Scent Trunk Logo on the top of the box, and I have to say the box is of great quality. Under the sack comes 3 cards, one for each of the fragrances you are getting to try. You also get 3 scent strips to spray your perfume on to try before putting it on your body.
On each card it tells you the top note of each fragrance as well as the middle and bass. Which basically means which scent (note) will be most defined when smelling it. I was scent Sunshine Woman by Amouage. The Top note of this particular perfume is Almond Davana, while the middle is Jasmine Vanilla and the Bass is Cade Papyrus.
Sunshine for Woman is like a magical moment of joy, a ray of sunshine smiling upon a bouquet of white floral. This scent has a longevity (lasting effect) of high standards. Best time to wear this scent is during the day, but also appropriate for the evening. The next two scents are Red Cattleya by Olympic Orchards and Day by Sarabecca.
Red Cattleya has a Top note of Citruces, Peach with duller notes of Apricot, Melon, Lilac and Vanilla. This was my most favorite of the three of them in this package. Has just a tad less of longevity than the Sunshine Woman. Day his Lily, Jasmine and Tuberose and has the least amount of longevity of the three. All of them are perfect for day time and evening wear.
When putting on these, or any fragrances keep in mind that all fragrances smell different on each person. Your bodies biochemistry has a factor on how you smell the scent on your skin. Also, the best way to get the full scent of any fragrance is to spray it on a tester strip or a clean white piece of paper and wait a few minutes to allow all the scents to settle and react to your skin, and the surroundings. Here is a video on the best way to put on, and try out perfume!
Like I previously mentioned Scent Trunk is new, BUT growing rapidly. With that being said they are offering a promo code so you can try your first box for half of as a way to thank you for supporting them. When checking out use the coupon code Community to get your first box for $7.50, and be sure to take the survey to help build your fragrance profile and please like them on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram.
As always this was provided to me for free for my 100% honest opinion and feedback. I was not given any other compensation other than the product.
