When I first contacted the Hawaiian Body Products company I had my sister and niece in mind. My sister lived in Hawaii and my niece was born on that very island. Danielle (my sister) is an avid reader, and supporter of my blog and I wanted something that I knew she’d be sure to enjoy! Not only is the products themselves that Hawaiian Body Products sell amazing, but so is their background.
In 2005 Co-Founder and Director of Sales and Marketing Robin Williams and her family worked hard and diligently to bring an all natural and organic body and skin care line to us. They are committed to creating high quality products with the ingredients from their native island Hawaii.
I can really stand behind a company that is family owned and family run. It’s a great accomplishment to create such an amazing product and have it to pass on to future generations. I was really happy with the fact that when I pitched them to review their products they asked, and required me to really understand their commitment and promise to themselves, and to their consumers.
I was sent a few items for review! The first one is their Passion Fruit Body Polish! Also known to some as a scrub. Made with a blend of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil , Organic Cocoa Butter and Mango Butter and locally harvested Macadamia and Kukui Nut Oils, infused with our healing synergetic Organic and Wildcrafted Hawaiian Botanical Distillates (Hawaiian Purple Sweet Potato, Banana, Seaweeds, Sugar Cane, Bamboo, Ginger, Noni, Olena and Taro). I was excited to try this out because I’ve noticed my ankles and elbows seem to have gotten really dry in these harsh winter months. So I showered with it and scrubbed it into my problem areas and gently rinsed with warm water. The aroma was nice, though Passion Fruit is not my favorite scent. I know there are lots out there that like passion fruit, and if you do this product is certainly for you.
The product wasn’t overly oily, or abrasive on the skin. It was just enough to hydrate, and scrub the dead, dry skin off my elbows and ankles. I didn’t need a lot either to get the job done so I see my 13 oz tub being more than useful several times before I need to purchase another container. I do suggest storing it carefully, and upright as some of the oils will leak out the side otherwise. This product retails for $26.00
OH MY WORD! Let me just exclaim my excitement for this body butter! Where do I even being. I got the pleasure of reviewing there Pikake Body Butter as well made with a blend of Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Cocoa and Organic Mango Seed Butters. Infused with our unique synergetic healing blend of Organic and Wildcrafted Hawaiian Botanical Distillates (Hawaiian Purple Sweet Potato, Banana, Seaweeds, Aloe Vera, Sugar Cane, Bamboo, Ginger, Noni, Olena and Taro), to create this creamy, luxurious formula that will repair, replenish and moisturize dry, thirsty skin. I applied this on after the polish and the aroma was just so entrancing. It made me really think I could be laying in a field of flowers on the warm island of Hawaii. Awe, just simply exquisite! The body butter left my skin feeling really hydrated and super soft once the butter set into my skin. My son came off the bus today and into the house and *sniffs the air* and says to me “MOM! What smells so good in here?” I asked him if it were my hands as I held them out for him to smell them. He nose-dived into my palms and seemed to sit there for what seemed to be forever. He replied with “YES!”.
