Redmond Trading Company

rtc-logo The Redmond Trading Company specializes in products that are simple, clean & real. At Redmond they believe nature has it right with products–and that they can’t improve upon nature. This principle, and a passion for wellness, is the philosophy behind all of their Redmond products. I am extremely eager to tell you about all of their products as they sent me one of each of their products. My family and I are a fan of some, and not so big fans of other. None the less, they were all really great to try.

redmondclayThe first product I’d like to let you all in on is the Redmond Facial Mud. I’ve never been huge into face masks, but only because I didn’t know anything about them. Why they were beneficial, or what using them could do for my skin. Now that I know I really have to look into doing mud masks more often. I was sent a 4oz tube of hydrated clay for facial purposes. Using Redmond Clay Facial Mud you’re able to keep your acne at bay while detoxifying your skin and toning it. The instructions call for a 1/8in of clay to spread over the surface of your face (being sure to stir clear of your eyes).  Once on let it set for 20-30 minutes, or for more sensitive skin 10-15 minutes.

As you can see there is a bit of redness to my face do to the facial mud drawing out all the toxins into my skin. It’s completely normal and will go away within an hour. I just used warm water and a wash cloth to remove the mask. I then pat my face dry and was left with a clean, refreshed feeling. My skin also felt a little tight, but not overly uncomfortable. I am hoping that with continued use my skin stays clear, and toned!

earthpasteThe next item up for review is their Earth Paste it’s their brand of all natural toothpaste. You’re probably wondering what their toothpaste is made up of since Redmond Trading is known for their use of clay & salt. Well that’s exactly it, they use Purified Water, Redmond Clay, Xylitol, Essential Oil (Cinnamon, Wintergreen or Peppermint), Real Salt, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Menthol (Only in the Wintergreen & Peppermint varieties). How simple, clean and real is that? My husband and I were the first to try out Earth Paste, in the wintergreen flavor.

Don’t be fooled by the mud looking color, it was actually wonderful tasting. However because the lack of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate there is no foaming to this toothpaste. In my mind the foam is one of those things makes me think my teeth are actually getting clean. SLS are said to have a drying effect on the mouth which can increase mouth acidity. These chemicals are also known to cause membrane disruption and trauma in the mouth leading to canker sores. Even with knowing this I personally favor the foaming toothpaste. I will say though that the Earth Paste left my mouth feeling clean, and my teeth smooth. I think it’s a mind over matter thing for me. I’ve been brushing my teeth with foaming toothpaste for the last 26 years, it’s just one thing I cant see myself changing.

My son on the other hand may never let me buy him any other toothpaste besides the Earth Paste. He absolutely hates the foaming, and minty (spicy flavors). He’s a huge fan of the Lemon Twist flavor!

earthcure-logoThe last thing I want to review for right now is their EarthCure Hand & Body Soap! I was sent a 6oz Peppermint scented soap and it was so therapeutic smelling. It left my hands feeling smooth, when a lot of times the hand soaps I use leave my hands feeling dry. EarthCure can be use for not only your hands, but your body and face. So I did try washing my face with it, and the peppermint left a soft little tingle on my face. I actually really like that feeling that peppermint leaves on the skin. My favorite part about it though was that it was a foam soap. Something about foam soap really just makes me giddy. It’s the little things in life, I know :).
